Creating Learning Centre content
What it is used for
Authoring tools in the Learning Centre let managers and admins build a central library of policies, procedures, company documents and learning modules. The same content can then be attached to checklist tasks and assigned to users for tracking.
Who can access it
Managers and admins commonly create and edit Learning Centre content. Staff usually only read content. Exact access depends on organisation settings and per-document permissions.
Content types
- Policy documents. Statement-style documents that often need review dates and approver records.
- Procedure documents. Step-by-step procedures used directly in operations and attached to checklist tasks.
- Company documents. Reference material like employee handbooks, rosters, contact sheets.
- Learning modules. Multi-section structured learning, optionally with quizzes and manager sign-off.
Step-by-step
- Open Learning Center.
- Choose the tab for the content type you want to create.
- Select the create or add action for that content type.
- Enter the title and the content body. The rich-text editor supports headings, lists, images, tables and embedded media.
- For modules, add sections; sections can include quiz questions and completion steps.
- Set the review date and reviewers if the document needs periodic review.
- Save the content.
- Optionally Assign it to users or groups for completion tracking. See Assignments.
Attaching to checklist tasks
Procedure documents are the most common content type to attach to checklist tasks: staff see the SOP next to the task they are doing.
- Open the checklist template.
- Open the task.
- In Attached materials, link the relevant policy, procedure or company document.
- Save.
Learning modules are assigned to users directly rather than attached to a checklist task. See Assignments.
Important notes
- Policy, procedure and company documents all support a
reviewDatefield. When the date is reached, the configuredreviewNotifyUsersreceive a reminder. - Keep document names searchable. The AI assistant uses titles and content to find sources.
- Content remains in the library even after it has been assigned, so past assignment records continue to make sense.
