AI assistant
What it is used for
The AI assistant answers questions using only your organisation's policy and procedure documents. It is grounded in the documents you have already written or uploaded — it does not draw on company documents or learning modules.
This is useful for staff who need a quick answer without having to scan several documents, and for managers who want a consistent answer for common questions.
Who can access it
Users in organisations where an admin has turned on the Learning Centre AI feature. Admins control whether the assistant is available.
Ask a question
- Open Learning Center.
- Open the AI assistant from the Learning Centre header or sidebar.
- Type a question in plain English.
- Read the answer along with the source documents the assistant used.
- Open a source document to verify the answer or read more context.
What it does well
- Quick answers grounded in your real documents.
- Pointing staff to the specific document and section that applies.
- Reducing repeat questions during onboarding.
What it does not do
- It does not invent steps that are not in your library. If a topic isn't documented, the assistant will say so.
- It does not act on tasks. It cannot complete checklists or change assignment status.
- It does not store or share private chats outside your organisation.
- Each user has a daily limit on the number of questions they can ask, to keep usage reasonable.
Audit and oversight
Every assistant interaction is logged so admins can audit usage. If a staff member reports a wrong answer, the audit log includes the question, the answer and the source documents the assistant used. Use that to improve the underlying document and the answer improves too.
