Completing tasks
What it is used for
Completing tasks records what work has been done on the active run.
Who can access it
Users with access to the active checklist can complete tasks, unless the checklist is closed or the task is marked Not Applicable.
Step-by-step
- Open an active checklist.
- Find the task in the task list.
- Select the checkbox or row to mark the task complete.
- Select it again to move it back to pending if you marked it by mistake.
- Fill any required custom fields before completion. See Custom fields.
- Use tag filters if the checklist has many tasks.
- Open the row menu for additional task actions:
- Task Details
- Add Notes
- Edit
- Duplicate task
- Not Applicable or Applicable
- Rollover when the task supports manual rollover
Real-time updates
If a colleague completes a task on the same run, you'll see the row flip to complete in real time without a refresh. The activity feed in Task Details also shows who did what and when.
Important notes
- Closed checklists cannot be edited like an open checklist. Reopen the checklist or open a new run if you need to record more work.
- Not Applicable tasks are not counted toward the run's pending total. Use it for tasks that genuinely don't apply on this run.
- Tasks may include custom fields, notes, images, attached materials or rollover settings.
- If a task has a deadline, OpusHub sends an overdue notification when it is still incomplete past the deadline.
